On March 13th, 2024, the Faculty of International Economics, Foreign Trade University organized a scientific discussion with the topic: “How AI and Data Analytics is Transforming Modern Logistics and Supply Chain Operations?” in conference room H303 to help teachers, graduate students, graduate students, and students update information on the topic of artificial intelligence and data analysis in operating logistics systems and supply chains.
The seminar had the participation of Dr. Vishanth Weerakkody, Vice Principal of Bradford University, UK. On the side of Foreign Trade University, the discussion had the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien – Vice President; Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Xuan Binh – Dean of the Faculty of International Economics; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuong Anh – Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Dr. Luong Thi Ngoc Oanh – Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Economics. The seminar also had the participation of lecturers in the department, graduate students, graduate students, and students of the Faculty of International Economics.
Speaking at the opening of the discussion, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien emphasized that artificial intelligence and data analysis have been changing the way logistics systems and supply chains operate. In particular, in a context where technology development is happening rapidly, the opinions and knowledge shared at the discussion will help participants have a deeper look at the potential and challenges of applying technology and data analytics in this field.
In the presentation at the seminar, Dr. Vishanth Weerakkody presented the latest findings from his research, focusing on applying AI technology and data analysis to optimize logistics and supply chain operations. response, from forecasting demand to managing warehouses and shipping goods. Research findings include how applying artificial intelligence and data analytics can help improve efficiency and reduce costs in supply chain management. At the end of his presentation, the speaker received many questions from the teachers, related to many issues such as opportunities and challenges in applying AI in operating logistics systems and supply chains in Vietnam; the prospect of AI’s role in sustainable development goals for the global economy.
The seminar ended successfully and received positive feedback from participating guests, graduate students, graduate students, and students of the Faculty of International Economics.
