CONFERENCE FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS AND ENGLISH – TAUGHT UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF FIE, FTU JOINED ORGANIZED WITH GRADUATE SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, RITSUMEIKAN UNIVERSITY

On September 12th, 2017, the Faculty of International Economics organized a scientific workshop for graduate students and students of high quality program in English to create opportunities for researching. The students presented their research and academic exchange with international students.

Attending the seminar, there was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Vice Principal and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Van Nghia, Dean of Graduate School. On the guest side is the appearance of Professor Hideaki Ohta with a Japanese student from Ritsumeikan University.

At the opening lecture, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy highly appreciated the seminar model organized by the Faculty of International Economics and hoped this model would spread to other faculties throughout the school. On the guest side, Professor Hideaki Ohta sent back sincere thanks to the warm welcome of Foreign Trade University for Japanese students in their first trip to Vietnam. Both sides were eagerly waiting for the opportunity to exchange and learn.

The seminar was divided into two sessions. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tăng Văn Nghĩa presented in the first session. In this session, scientists and students watched two presentation by Professor Hideaki Ohta on the topic “Why the” Abenomics “has been damaged in the recovery of the economy in Japan? Analysis on the US – Japanese Markets & Economies through BVAR “and the presentation of Prof. Tran Minh Nguyet with the theme” Climate smart agriculture in Vietnam: opportunities and challenges “. It can be said that the two presentations gave the participants, especially the students the knowledge and methods of research were very useful.

The second session of the seminar was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Thuy Anh, Dean of the Faculty of International Economics. This session was dedicated to presentations from high quality students and students from Japan. On behalf of Vietnamese students, Vu Minh Trang, representative of Cohort K54 student group, presented the paper entitled “The impact of VJEPA and other economic factors on trade between Vietnam and Japan” with Nguyen Phuong Huyen, K53 presented the paper entitled “Ability of premature industrialization in Vietnam”. On the side of Japanese students, Misaki Kano presented a paper titled “Policy for economic growth by expanding household consumption in Japan” highly valued and promising to develop into a deeper topic in the future.

At the end of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Thuy Anh expressed thanks for the help and support from the School in cooperation with Faculty of International Business successfully organized the seminar today. She also thanked the Japanese students led by Professor Hideaki Ohta who was enthusiastic and hoped that this was a good first step for the two universities to have further cooperation in the future.
