On November 16th, 2023, after three days of rigorous and prompt work, Foreign Trade University, in collaboration with the ASEAN University Network (AUN), held the closing ceremony of the 363rd accreditation for three postgraduate programs according to AUN-QA standards. The accredited programs include: the Master of International Economics (MIE) program taught in English, the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with an application-oriented focus.
Representing the AUN at the closing ceremony were Associate Professor Dr. Eric Wibisono, Chief assessor, along with team leaders and assessing experts.
Representing Foreign Trade University were Associate Professor Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University; Associate Professor Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council; Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice President; Associate Professor Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien, Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Phuc Hien, Director of the Center for Testing and Quality Assurance; Associate Professor Dr. Tang Van Nghia, Head of the Graduate School; Heads and Deputy Heads of the units responsible for the three programs, other university leaders, representatives of staff, lecturers, students, alumni, and employers.
In his concluding remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Eric Wibisono, Chief assessor, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic and thorough cooperation and support from the university and related parties during the evaluation process. He highly appreciated the achievements and continuous improvement efforts of all three programs aimed at enhancing the quality of postgraduate education at the university, contributing to the fulfillment of the university’s mission, vision, and overall goals. He hoped that the recommendations from the assessing team would be taken into consideration and implemented by the university in the near future.
In his closing speech, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, President of the university, extended his heartfelt thanks to the assessing team for their dedicated and responsible work with the utmost objectivity over the past three days. He stated that the university had acknowledged the evaluation feedback on the three programs and would plan to study and implement the AUN’s recommendations to further improve the quality of these programs, aiming to better align with international standards.
The assessment report was based on eight standards focusing on the following areas: Learning Outcomes; Program Structure and Content; Teaching and Learning Methods; Student Assessment; Faculty and Research Staff; Student Support Services; Facilities and Equipment; and Output and Results.
During the closing session, members of the assessing team presented preliminary survey results, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, and provided specific recommendations for each program.
